Tarik Dogru (Dr. True) Ph.D.

Dr. True earned his doctorate in hospitality management from the University of South Carolina.
Prior to joining the faculty of the FSU Dedman College of Hospitality, Dr. True served as an assistant professor at Boston University (2016-18), an adjunct faculty member at the University of South Carolina (2013-16), and a research and teaching assistant at Ahi Evran University, Turkey (2009-12). He has taught a variety of courses in business and hospitality schools at undergraduate and graduate levels.
The range of Dr. True’s research interests span topics in sharing economy (e.g., Airbnb), hospitality finance, corporate finance, tourism economics, employment and wages, climate change, and blockchain technology.
Dr. True is a highly productive researcher who publishes in many prestigious hospitality and tourism journals — Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Journal of Sustainable Tourism, Tourism Economics, International Journal of Tourism Research and Tourism Analysis. Dr. True serves on the editorial board of Tourism Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Tourism Economics and Tourism Analysis.
