Tarik Dogru receives 2026 International CHRIE Research Award

Dr. Tarik Dogru with his 2026 International CHRIE Research Award, an honor recognizing influential scholarship in hospitality and tourism management.

Dr. Tarik Dogru, associate professor and Dedman Professor of Hospitality & Tourism Management, has received the 2026 Research Award from International CHRIE (International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education).

The annual award honors an International CHRIE member as the first author of an outstanding research article or other publication relevant to culinary, hospitality or tourism management. Nominated work must be published in a reputable journal, make a significant contribution to the field and demonstrate a high quality of research.

Dogru also serves as director of graduate programs at the Dedman College. His research spans hospitality finance, tourism economics, employment and wages, the sharing economy, climate change and technology. His work has appeared in leading hospitality and tourism journals, including Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research and the Journal of Travel Research.

The award adds to Dogru’s record of scholarship and recognizes the continued impact of research taking place at the Dedman College of Hospitality.
