How did your education at Dedman prepare you for your career? What skills or traits did you learn that contributed to your success?
Dedman offers plenty of practical experiences through intricate projects and opportunities to attend site visits and listen to guest speakers. Through these experiences, I’ve learned how to become a leader that utilizes strategic management skills while fostering relationships that are critical in operational successes and professional growth.
What was the most memorable part of your time at Dedman? Does anything from a class – or perhaps something a professor said – still stick with you today?
My most memorable part of Dedman was Chef Zach’s Catering Management class. This class provided a true experience in leading people and projects. It was so much fun being immersed in every detail of crafting and executing the themed dinner from design to operation. I still have a copy of our team’s menu!

How is hospitality applicable to your current field?
Hospitality is intertwined in everything that I do. Having a hospitality mindset not only allows me to serve my guests, but it also allows me to create unforgettable experiences for my cast members. Anticipating the needs of my stakeholders while having an extreme level of attention to detail to create human connections help me drive and achieve success.
