Dr. Abhinav Sharma has been an assistant professor in the Dedman College of Hospitality at Florida State University since 2021. His research interests lie at the intersection of revenue management, tourism economics and technology. Dr. Sharma has taught a number of courses in the areas of tourism and hospitality including revenue management, human resource management, information technology and social media.

His work has been published in top journals including Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management and Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research. He serves on the editorial review board of multiple top-tier journals including the Journal of Travel Research and Annals of Tourism Research.

Dr. Sharma has won several awards for his research including the Michael Olsen Graduate Fellowship, the Darden Restaurants Foundation Scholarship, and the Dean’s Merit Award for Excellence in Research. He frequently presents his scholarly work at major international conferences, and in 2021 Dr. Sharma and his co-authors were won the best paper award at 90th TOSOK International Tourism Conference in South Korea.

He obtained his PhD in Business with a focus on Hospitality and Tourism Management from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech in 2021. He also holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the State University of New York (Buffalo State), as well an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from Iowa State University.
