Kim Burkes has served Florida State University in numerous capacities throughout the last 30 years. Beginning at FSU University Housing, she supervised two full-time employees, and maintained and balanced revenue accounts. At the FSU University Registrar, she assisted students with certification requests, registration, graduation, and records. At FSU University Admissions, Kim admitted students and evaluated and audited their records.
Next, Kim moved into the academic arena from the administrative area. For eleven years, she served the FSU College of Business as registrar for online graduate programs. Today, she serves the FSU Dedman School of Hospitality as undergraduate academic advisor, supporting roughly 600 students in areas related to academic and graduation requirements.
“I love working with our students. Helping them achieve their goals is very rewarding,” Kim said. “And our team of faculty and staff at Dedman are a great to work with.”
Specialties: Kim has a full knowledge of FSU's academic policies with regard to graduate and undergraduate students, Blackboard, database administration, course scheduling, course curriculum management, general troubleshooting for student academic and financial issues.
